VASCULAR
LABORATORY

Our VASCULAR
LABORATORY

After your initial examination, testing in the vascular laboratory is often the first step in diagnosing vascular disease. Specific tests are ordered according to your symptoms and suspected vascular problems.

Non-invasive testing utilizes various types of technology to evaluate blood flow. These procedures are painless and can determine if blood vessel disease is present, its location, and its severity. From the results of these tests, we can determine the need for more invasive testing and/or procedures to treat your vascular disease.

Testing is performed by our registered vascular technologist (RVT) and interpreted by Dr. Nachbauer, RPVI (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation).

Our lab provides the following:

      • Venous duplex for valvular reflux and venous thrombosis (clot)

A thorough ultrasound examination is the cornerstone in the diagnosis of venous disease and allows for determination of appropriate treatment. Ultrasonography is typically covered by most insurance plans.

  • Carotid Duplex
  • Non-invasive upper and lower extremity arterial testing
  • ABI with PVR (blood pressure and pulse wave measurements)
  • Arterial Duplex
